Never heard a thing about it. 25 bucks would certainly be more than worth it if they actually honored the membership at the Nugget. I may email reservations and ask about it.

I first heard about it this week from my daughter. She was in Mammoth CA at the Charter House. She told them she was going to eat at the Charter House at the Golden Nugget in April. Thats where they told her about the club. I thought I had read everything on line from the Golden Nugget. I must have over looked what they wrote at the bottom of there accommodation page.

http://www.goldennugget.com/accommodations/index.asp

I went ahead and signed up on line. It takes 2-3 weeks before you get the card. They don't have many restaurants near me to earn points. I guess I live in the sticks. Thats why I go to Las Vegas. To eat. Also from reading the terms and conditions you do not earn points at there restaurants at the Golden Nugget. You can use all the other benefits there, just not earn points. I think it should be worth the $25 anyway with the room upgrades. Whats nice is it is a one time fee. No annual fee.

I just wanted to add for those that don't know....Landry’s operates primarily under the names of Rainforest Cafe, Saltgrass Steak House, Landry’s Seafood House, Charley’s Crab, Chart House and the Signature Group of restaurants, which include Willie G’s, Vic & Anthony’s, Grotto, Pesce, La Griglia, Brenner’s Steakhouse and Brenner’s on the Bayou. Landry’s also operates Yak & Yeti, T-Rex Cafe, Aquarium Restaurants and the Kemah Boardwalk. Landry’s owns and operates the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and Laughlin, Nevada.

It's certainly an interesting idea, and one I'm seriously considering. We're booked for a Sun.-Thurs. stay in late April, so chances are there would be room for an upgrade. Now whether they actually give it up is another story. I emailed reservations and don't expect much in reply, but hopefully they'll confirm something.

We don't have any Landry's restaurants here, either, but there are several in Denver that we frequent about twice a year. Since the thing costs $25 and they give you $25 credit right back, it seems like a no-brainer even if we don't get a room upgrade. I'm totally with you on the going to Vegas to eat part. We're on the pre-Vegas soup and salad diet right now!

When is your trip? I'll be anxious to see if either of us scores an upgrade!

It is also the only time I drink. I have been going to TOPS (Take off pounds sensibly) for the last year. I do great until I go to Las Vegas. Unfortunatly I go way to often. This will be my 5th trip in 3 months. My weight is at a stand still. I would like to get some off before the trip. We are planning a family get together April 1-5. So there is a holiday there that they might not cover with this offer. I guess I will find out if some of the days can be in a upgraded room.

Well, I just got an email response from reservations (below). It seems to be a pretty noncommittal committal. I think I'm gonna try it just to see. If I never get an upgrade, at least I can use the membership at the restaurants, right?

If you join the Landry's Select Club and wish to take advantage of the benefits, please contact our office and we will gladly modify your existing booking with the proper coding. Please be advised that the benefits of the club are based on availability and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers or memberships. You must present your membership card upon arrival.

It looks like I will be going to try this out before you so I will let you know how it goes. I would like to get the rush tower east end suite again. I liked that I vallet park, walk into the VIP check in and go around the corner to the elevators to my room. Not much walking at all. That works great for me since I have Rheumatoid Arthrites and my feet are really bad. Badly deformed and swollen. I also can't carry things far becase all my joints, muscles and ligaments are effected. I have to sleep in a good bed and this seems to be the best with the pillow-top mattresses, feather down comforter like at home. I hate feeling like I am camping when I am on vacation. No cardboard beds for me. It would kill me. If I get real sore and in alot of pain, I soak in the Jacuzzi.

It didn't take two to three weeks to get the card. It came in 3 days. I hope I get a nice upgrade. It shows golden nugget on the back of the card too.

Thank you so much for posting this I am going to Vegas right after you april 4-7. I never would have know about this. I booked my rooms at the nugget about 2 weeks ago. I signed up online for the card tonight hope it gets here.

I also paid for VIP check in already so hopefully that helps. My twin and I are going for our birthday so maybe they will be kind with the upgrade. And the rewards for sign up and birthday are good with the card $50 total after b-day.
I know I can't use it at the GN restaurants but I wonder about the Rainforest Cafe at the MGM?

Holley
