King Tut's Tomb

The Luxor Hotel and Casino is done entirely in an Egyptian theme. A giant pyramid in the desert would be remiss for not including the most famous Egyptian of all, King Tutankhamun.

The King Tut's Tomb museum contains authentic reproductions of the items found in King Tut's tomb, discovered in 1922 by Howard Carter. The items are positioned exactly as they were found, according to records maintained by the Carter expedition.

The artifacts in the museum were reproduced using the same gold leaf and linens, pigments, tools and original 3,300 year-old Egyptian methods. Dr. Omar Mabreuck, a renowned Egyptologist who created the Pharaonic Village in Egypt, oversaw the production of the museum pieces, which took more than six months and 50 people to build. The exhibit contains hundreds of reproductios of the statues, vases, beds, baskets and pottery found in the original tomb.

The museum is open from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm Sunday through Thursday and from 9:00 am to 11:30 pm Friday and Saturday. The current admission price is $5.00. For more information, you can call Luxor attractions information at 702-262-4555.
